Circus skills workshop to support Free Tibet

Joel Brooks, a long-standing supporter of Free Tibet, held a circus skills workshop. Joel, who performs and teaches at Jambalaya Juggling held the workshop at a holiday club for different age groups at Ringwood Waldorf School in Dorset. Joel said that he “donated the fee to this charity as the plight is something I feel so strongly about, we can’t just sit on our phones tutting at what is going on, we need to support great causes - through Circus!”

Tibetans in Canada complete ultra-marathon

In October 2021, three Tibetans living in Toronto, Canada took part in the Peace Rally Marathon for Tibet. During this ultra-marathon, which spanned 12 days, Pema Kunga, Tenzin Shedup and Dechen Wangdi Peace covered an incredible 680km. The aim of their ultra-marathon was to raise awareness of the global ‘No Beijing 2022’ campaign. The money raised was donated to four Tibetan charities.

Brighton Marathon success for Team Tibet

On 12th September 2021, Team Tibet (Pete, Jason and Sylvie) made history by running the Brighton Marathon for Free Tibet and Tibet Watch for the first time. The runners accepted the challenge with exceptional enthusiasm, “I am proud to represent the millions of Tibetan people who face far greater challenges and discomfort on a daily basis” - Pete

Live music night

In 2019, Jim Tarran hosted an evening of live music and entertainment at the Latest Music Bar in Brighton with all profits going to Free Tibet. The night featured Lisa Nichols Rider, Infant Cubbit, The Gyratory Sound System and The Anāhata Sound System as well as a raffle. Thank you Jim!

A cycle rally for a free Tibet

In February 2021, a massive cycle rally for Tibet was held in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The organisers of the event were raising awareness for a boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Tibetans march 118 miles for peace in Tibet

Four Tibetans carried out a Peace March for Tibet from Bristol to London in August, walking 118 miles in six days. When they reached London, they were given a warm reception by Tibet supporters and support groups, including staff from Free Tibet.

‘Tea for Tibet’

“A great excuse to eat cake, drink tea and raise money for a good cause”. Long time supporter Chris Johnson hosted a tea and cake morning - calling his event ‘Tea for Tibet’, and hosting it at his place of work. He raised hundreds of pounds and raised awareness for Tibet freedom.
