Ngaba under heavy surveillance

19 year old, Lobsang Tenpa carried out a solo protest on a street in Ngaba county, eastern Tibet, this weekend. Lobsang Tenpa, a monk from Kirti Monastery staged his demonstration on Saturday afternoon. He marched towards the county administration centre, shouting slogans against the Chinese government while carrying a photo of the Dalai Lama. He wore a handmade Tibetan flag around his head. Chinese police and security forces immediately arrested him and his room at Kirti monastery has been searched. It is believed that he is being kept at the county detention centre. This the second protest of its kind recently. Earlier this month a young Tibetan in Kardze took to the street.
