Teenager Sangay Tashi has died after setting himself on fire in protest over China’s policies in Tibet.

Call for return of the Dalai Lama

Sangay Tashi, from Sangkog Township, Sangchu County, called out for the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet and for the release of the Panchen Lama and other political prisoners, before he self-immolated between 11.30pm and midnight on Tuesday night.

He died at the scene.
