Local activists and groups play a vital role in raising awareness and generating support for Tibet. They make connections with people where they live, engaging local communities, local media and political representatives.
Joining a group is a great way to meet like-minded people who care about human rights and want to do something to make a positive difference. As you do that, you'll also be helping Free Tibet’s campaigns and fundraising.
To learn more about Free Tibet's work with Local Groups, watch the video featuring our director, Eleanor. Thank you for your support!
On this page you can find resources such as leaflets, our Local Groups Guide and ideas for events and activities. We're here to give you all the help you need so please don't hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Free Tibet T-Shirts are also available at a special discount for Local Group members - please get in touch to order yours.
Note: Some of these materials are available here as SlideShare files. This is a way of sharing files which makes it quick and easy to download them. You can also order hard copies of any published materials from us, free of charge.
Campaign leaflets and postcards
You can distribute these materials in your community, such as in local shops or community centres, or on your own stalls. Having stalls on high streets, at events or festivals is a great way to inform people about Tibet and encourage them to give their support. We have leaflets, campaign postcards and fundraising materials to share with you. Call or email us email@example.com and we will post them to you.
One of our supporters who is a yoga instructor, held a fundraising yoga session for us. Others have taken part in sponsored events or sold Free Tibet merchandise. Contact us to find out more.
Social media graphics and videos
We use graphics on our social media pages to engage and inform about Tibet. Does your local group have Facebook, Twitter or YouTube? How about sharing our social media graphics and videos? Also don't forget to like our social media sites and share our posts. We regularly update them. If you don't have a website or Facebook page, we'll be happy to help you set one up. Just get in touch.
