Annual Tibetan Freedom March on 10 March
10 March is Tibetan Uprising Day, marking the anniversary of the 1959 uprising against Chinese occupation, when the Dalai Lama was forced to flee Tibet.
Events take place to mark the anniversary all over the world.
London Tibet march
On Sunday 10 March, Tibetans and supporters of Tibet will march from Downing Street to the Chinese Embassy. Ending with an inspiring rally, the event is a colourful and positive show of support for Tibet. If you're based in the UK, please join us if you can.
We will be assembling at Richmond Terrace, opposite Downing Street, at 11.00am and are planning to leave at 11.30am.
The annual lobby of Parliament on Wednesday 13 March is a collective opportunity for supporters to appeal to their MPs and the Government on behalf of Tibet. The lobby can bring much needed political attention to Tibet, and is more vital than ever following the oppression of Tibetans and the protests that have followed this year.
Contact your MP
You can join us and other Tibet supporters in Westminster on the day or if you cannot attend, you can still make your voice heard by contacting your MP through phone, email, letter and/or fax and calling for action.
Please see our page about the March events for more details and to register for the mass lobby. Free Tibet also advises supporters to schedule meetings with MPs as early as possible.
