The Chinese government has announced that it will distribute gifts to Tibetans to mark the 50th anniversary of the Tibet Autonomous Region, which was celebrated with lavish festivities and a military parade in Lhasa on 8 September.


Free Tibet said:
The so-called Tibet Autonomous Region [1] only covers about half of Tibet - its very existence is a product of the ongoing propaganda effort to rewrite Tibetan history and define Tibetan identity according to China’s priorities.
