Photo of first nun to self-immolate
This is Tenzin Wangmo, the 20-year-old nun who died after setting herself on fire on 17 October last year.
She set herself on fire outside Dechen Chokorling nunnery (also known as Mame nunnery), three kilometers from Ngaba Town.
Tenzin called for religious freedom in Tibet and the return of the Dalai Lama. She walked about for up to eight minutes before she collapsed and died.
It is reported that she told fellow nuns that morning that she "will have to do something of great importance".
More than 40 Tibetans have now set themselves on fire in protest at the repressive Chinese occupation of their country. See the full list.
